Pebbles and Stones Ministries
An International, Intergenerational, Non-denominational Christian ministry.1 Peter 2:4-12
In 1982, Kathleen Trock and some friends brought their young children together for weekly meetings. Soon the original group of seven children grew by word of mouth to over 20 children, with many of their parents attending as well. Many parents said things like "I never thought that children could hear the word of God" or "I didn't think that I would have so much fun experiencing God's love with children." 25 years later, there are Pebbles and Stones groups in Canada, China, Congo, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, India, Indonesia, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Liberia, Malaysia, Mali, Mexico, Mozambique, Namibia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Thailand, United States of America, and Vietnam.
We teach flexible LESSONS
The lessons can come from a curriculum or the leader’s own quiet time. The lesson is flexible, and it is not the focal point. It serves to connect each participant with God and with each other.
We emphasize LISTENING
Pebbles and Stones explores the different ways in which God spoke to His people. As we do this, we experience for ourselves the importance of recognizing His voice and His ways.
We use JOURNALING
P&S encourages and teaches children and adults to journal using words and pictures. As they do, they learn the importance of sharing those thoughts with others, which directs the prayer time.
We connect through PRAYER
Participants listen as journal pages are being shared and rely on the Holy Spirit to show them what to pray for.
We seek INTERGENERATIONAL COMMUNITY
P&S intentionally brings the generations together. We meet in neighborhoods, churches,
schools and nursing homes. As we meet, we experience what it means to live together as brothers and sisters.
We live out the GREAT COMMAND and the GREAT COMMISSION
As Pebbles and Stones expands into different parts of the world, The participants are intentionally directed to seek God’s heart in order to hear how they can pray, serve and love their brothers and sisters and to be His witnesses, making disciples of all nations.
We encourage SONG WRITING
Scripture tells us to sing a new song, and children have not yet learned that singing our own songs is hard or only for talented musicians and singers. In fact, they are naturals at making up songs in their play. This ability is encouraged and directed as a way to worship and give God glory.
